Uniza Case Study

The art of architecture is not just an act of building mere physical enclosures. Architecture is way of communicating spatially - through form and purpose. Competition is the word of the millennial. For Architecture to sustain in such a context of time & beliefs, it is crucial to design & to build that has more to value and function.

Uniza, through its design conveys an example of Modern Pluralism. The prime objective was to create individualistic & unique experiences that have an identity of their own. Along with providing maximum retail space, the planning makes sure that each brand gets its maximum visibility. Uniza is a design intervention that is borrowed from the history to react to, rather respond to the present urban context with a vision of the tomorrow.

As the building paints a picturesque image on the skyline of the city of Ahmedabad, it leaves an impression on the mind of the passer-by. People can relate to the built-form, feel about the style it dictates & hence creates a connection with the place; exactly what our buildings are supposed to do to our cities!

Taking cues from the Neo-classical style, the entire facade is a composition of different elements envisioned together to form a language that conveys a unique architectural style in separation and in cohesion.

The design here, through Façade Articulation, presents a tailor-made façade with a designated face patch to each owner. Inspite of the variety & uniqueness that the external skin offers, the built-form appears one in soul & language. With an easy visual communication & identification for each block that represents a company - brand, the building not only interacts aesthetically but also functionally in to out.

Functionally, each brand unit is vertically divided into two with the upper part as the Master's zone and the lower as the work zone. The foyer is thoughtfully designed to cater to each unit alternatively, saving on space requirements.

The facades that envelopes the building into one, is an element that architecturally translates the concept of uniqueness & individual identity into a physical form. It leaves an impression on the mind of the passer-by and helps one relate to the building style. And hence, it engages one through a lasting Visual Experience.
