...'a building that responds to the life of its streets...'
Creating in response to the city's urban fabric, its life on the streets and the flavour of the occupants' profession over decades were the main drivers of designing behind this project. The design is born from the context and merges effortlessly in it as well
"In no great city of India, can the continuity of the past and present be seen as clearly as in Ahmadabad"
We, here, are looking at an organically developed - live- heart of the city with the landmarks such as Law Garden, C.G. Road in the nearby context. To design in such a thriving zone of the city, it's crucial to understand the Existing URBAN FABRIC (and setting) before adding to it.
Realizing the flavours that make the original city of Ahmedabad; Revisiting and reflecting the Architectural essence and language of the city were the intangibles that make Jewel park a befitting part of the local flavour.
Understanding the context we are trying to fit it - the life, the dynamics! - All notions well translated as a built form. Built for the jewellers of old-city Ahmedabad out of the Old-city Ahmedabad, the challenge was to be relevant yet modern day.
The façade interestingly put together with traditional & local elements offer the desirable vibrancy. With uniquely identifiable pieces of elevation composed together as one element, it reveals the address of each. They say identities are lost vertically - We designed a vertical vibrant street in response.
The design hence is a tailor-made combination of vertical spaces that respect and reflect the city & its people - ORGANIC - VERNACULAR - FRAGMENTED; DIVERSE and Visually APPEALING
